The Newtons

These are the stories of our family. The good, the bad and the funny. It is a journey that makes us laugh harder, cry longer and love each other that much more.

So, to continue on where I left off, we had Troy in 2002, kinda funny, Troy and I had a disagreement about what year he was born in this morning, for some reason I kept thinking he was born in 2001, but that was the year I found out I was pregnant and then he was born that next April, in 2002. April 16th, my tax baby. Then in June 2005, we got married. Troy was 4 at the time and had a hard time saying his R's at that time, so he would go around telling people, "My mommy and daddy are getting married and I'm going to be the wing bewer"
What else can I tell everyone, I work in the mental health field. I work at a locked Psychiatric Facility, called Hugo Hills SRTF. I first worked there on-call when I was 19. When Lance and I moved back to Oregon they offered me a full time position and I have been there ever since. Along with working on the floor, I am the Medical Care Coordinator. I schedule and transport to and from Doctors offices, communicate with all care providers, and assist our nurses as needed. It is a funny farm sometimes, literally, but I really do enjoy what I do. Sometimes I feel like I have missed out on so much not being able to be at home with Troy, but it has also made the time I am at home mean that much more to me. I have learned to make the most of my days off. I work Sunday thru Wednesday, 7am 5 pm. I love 4 ten hour days, I don't think I could ever go back to 5 eights. Having 3 days off in a row rocks.
Lance had been in construction for the last 7 years, hanging drywall. As most of you probably know the housing market hasn't been that good of late. So he has headed in a new direction and is working for Grants Pass School District 7. So far he loves it.
I have lots to share about Troy, but I'll save that for another time.
